The History of House

Jazzy M

To say that Jazzy M is one of the main men responsible for the UKs phenomenon that we call house music is no understatement. He has had an immense career as an international DJ, a record producer, label owner, promoter, and Record shop owner. Jazzy has been responsible for introducing so many people to house music with the first ever radio show in the UK solely dedicated to house music "The Jackin Zone". The show ran for ten years on LWR in conjunction with Jazzy's record shop Vinyl Zone, formerly on the Kings Road in Fulham.
Jazzy has worked with a number of famous recording artists including Paul Weller and the Style Council, Jimmy Sommerville, DC Lee, Arthur Baker and Julian Jonah of 187 Lockdown and DYNK fame. Jazzys career holds a huge discography including his first ever remix recorded at the Gee Street Studios working with the Stereo MCs, the first release on his own label 'Ohzone' was 'Chime' by Orbital and his first house production 'Living in a World of Fantasy' was recorded with Larry "Mr Fingers" Herd and Robert Owens.
Jazzy continues his long-standing residency at Ministry of Sound's Rulin on Saturday nights, this year saw him enter his 6th year as Ministry resident. He is guesting across the country in all the top clubs, Cream, Sugar Shack, Babooshka, Miss Moneypennys, Passion, Faith the list goes on, Jazzy is busier than a data entry clerk for the Chinese phone directory!
2001 is without doubt looking to be Jazzy's strongest year to date. Two major compilations for 2001, a '7 Live compilation' for 7 Magazine/DMC released end of May and a 'Headliners compilation CD' for Ministry released in October. This will follow an EXCLUSIVE residency for the Ministry of Sound in Ibiza this year.
